Phuntsok is 47 years old and he hails from upper-tso village, Lhundrup County, Tibet.
The Chinese government arrested Phuntsok, a Tibetan man from Upper-Tso Township, Lhundrup County, Tibet, for allegedly sending secret documents outside of China’s borders.

On 5 March 2024, Phuntsok was arrested suddenly by three Chinese police when he visited the county seat. His family requested that authorities share information about his whereabouts and reasons for his arrest. His family also asked to meet with him. The requests that were made to officials were denied.

A concerned Tibetan informed Tibet Times that the Chinese government accused Phuntsok of sending secret documents to the outside world. He has criticized the local leaders for disregarding people’s well-being.

Phuntsok is 47 and hails from an upper-tso village in Lhundrup County, Tibet. He has a fifteen-year-old girl and an eleven-year-old boy with his wife.
