Taden, a Tibetan man from Aruk township, Dhola County, Tibet, was arrested on alleged charges of contacting and sharing information with the outside world. His family was forbidden from any visitation following his arrest.
According to a reliable source of Tibet Times, “On 4 January 2024, around 8 am in Tibet, four police officials from Aruk Town and Dhola county suddenly came to Taden’s residence and arrested him without any explanation. He was taken into custody at the police station of Dhola County. His mother and relatives went there attempting to visit him but were denied any access to see Taden .”
Another concerned Tibetan informed Tibet Times that Taden was arrested allegedly on charges of contacting foreign entities and sharing sensitive information outside the borders of Tibet and China. This sending local documents and photographs.
Taden is 35 years old. He has an 8-year-old daughter with his wife and a mother aged 69.
