On March 10, 2008, over 300 monks of Drepung Monastery held a march to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. Another 15 monks from Sera Monastery and two lay Tibetans held a demonstration in front of the Jokhang temple to protest China’s rule in Tibet.
