The Chinese government is making policies to impose tight restrictions and further complete ban on praying to His Holiness the Dalai lama, smoke offerings for the sake of self-immolators and even circulating messages, pictures, videos and sound tracks about Tibet independence.
As recently, China has been implementing various policies to eradicate Tibetan culture and language, the information department of Thinren county has currently published and distributed a manual called ‘A picture book of information on 20 illegal actions related to Tibet Independence’ plotting to enforce a complete ban on displaying His Holiness the Dalai lama’s image, self-immolation and advocates for language protections.
According to a reliable source of Tibet Times, a complete ban is imposed on the actions of self-immolation and who incite it, spreading ideas about Tibet independence, sticking posters, distributing pamphlets and even addressing the public. As declared, it is also prohibited to gather or establish new organizations for protecting language, environment and animals.
The manual describes a ban on such as believing Tibet as an independent country and spreading or selling out books, images, videos and sound tracks about Tibetan thought, nor Tibetans are allowed to listen, watch and circulate online messages and images about Tibet independence. Additionally, any harmful information against national unity, rumors targeting to divide people and disrupt social regulation, working with outside separatist forces and sharing information, using outside TV channels and radios like Voice of America which incite Tibet independence are strictly banned.
Likewise, it is strongly prohibited to enter foreign countries illegally and participate in religious activities, raising the image of His Holiness the Dalai lama and Tibet independence fighters. The manual further has asserted that smoke offerings, setting animals free, making butter lamp offerings for the sake of a self-immolator or greetings to his/her immediate family members are not allowed.
Other prohibitions are also included in the twenty actions related to Tibet independence in the manual such as:
–collecting donations for the sake of personal or separatist forces out of China and organizing for such action.
-speaking about Tibet independence in schools and spreading extreme thought among nationalities.
-working with separatist forces out of the country and organizing or inciting others to support Tibet independence against national interest.
-organizing people in monasteries or public areas to recite the prayers of His Holiness during Tibetan auspicious events.
-inciting others in the name of religious and traditional activities.
-gathering to make smoke offerings, butter lamps offering prayers for His Holiness.
