Info: A Tibetan student in India, Tenzin Choeying, set himself on fire in the compound of his university in Varanasi, shouting ‘Victory for Tibet’. He initially survived but died from his injuries on July 22, 2017. Tenzin Choeying doused himself with kerosene and set fire to himself at around 9 am in the entrance of a residential hall at the Central University for Tibetan Studies. Choeying was especially concerned that Tibetans living under Chinese rule should be allowed to learn their own language.
