A former Chinese police Officer arrested from attending the Kalachakra Teaching

Chinese authorities have arrested Tsebo, a Tibetan, former Chinese official and a member of Communist Party, on alleged charges of attending Kalachakra as illegal.

Tsebo is from Chumar Lib County, Jyekudo, Tibet and a former police official. In the evening of September 12, he was with his mother, wife and child on the way for the four days Kalachakra that will be conferred by the seventh Gungthang Rinpoche, Lobsang Jamyang Gelek Tenpai Khenchen. When they were having lunch in a restaurant in Chengdu County, Chinese police officials arrived all of sudden, and interrogated them about where they were going and told them to register if they were going to attend the Kalachakra.

Following the registration, after a while, a man came and told them that they are not permitted to attend the Kalachakra and ordered to returned back. Furthermore, told to Tsebo that “You have served the party for the past 32 years including being a police official and becoming one of the oldest Party members. However, ignoring all the regulations is severe and against the law.” And then he was forcibly taken to the police station.

Tsebo in his 32 years of service served in Dzatoe and many་other places on different police post ranging from local authoritative to animal husbandry head. He is presently in his sixties.

Tens of thousands of devotees are coming from all parts of Tibet to receive the Kalachakra of Gungthang Rinpoche, but the local authority has made an announcement that this Kalachakra is only for the people of lower and upper Dzoge.

Thus, ordering to those who came from outside if already arrived. Police officials are halting people on the road and interrogated if they are going to attend Kalachakra or not.
