Tibetan Former Political Prisoner Lobsang Tenpa Passes Away

As per the information received to the Tibet Times, A Tibetan monk and a former political prisoner Lobsang Tenpa passed away at 52 succumbed to his stomach ulcer illness in Lhasa, Tibet around 10 am of August 5, 2023.

According to some of the reliable source, Ven. Lobsang Tenpa was arrested in October 1996 by Chinese authorities under political allegations and imprisoned in Drapchi Prison for five years. He was released from prison in October 2001.

The prominent political prisoner, Lobsang was born in 1982, in Nyingang township, Kangmar County in Shigatse, Tibet. His birth name is NyeTsam and father’s name is Lhakpa. In 1982, he joined Nyingang monastery and pursued Buddhist Studies there.
